Hi, I'm Srinivas Shakkottai. I have been an assistant professor at the Dept. of ECE at Texas A&M University since Spring 2008. I received my PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in March 2007, and was a postdoctoral associate at Stanford University till December 2007.
I am a recipient of the Cisco Research Award (2008-2009), the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Young Investigator Award (2009-2011), and the Google Faculty Research Award (2010-2011).
Research
Broadly speaking, my research interests center around communication networks, with an emphasis on the Internet. Over the past few years, I have had the good fortune to collaborate with several different research centers specializing in both analytical and measurement based approaches. My focus areas include content distribution including P2P methods, network economics, learning and game theory, wireless ad-hoc networks, and the measurement and analysis of Internet data.
I am a founding member of the Center for Network Engineering and Communication Technologies, CNECT at Texas A&M University, where I co-direct the Smart Phone Initiative.
