  • Dr. Wang was featured as one of the Rising Stars of Texas in Nano  Summit 2007. She presented an invited talk entitled “Nanostructured  Functional Ceramic Thin Films and Applications”. The talk summarized  our group’s research efforts on various ceramic coatings for applications  in high temperature superconductors, diffusion barriers, solid oxide fuel  cells and ion irradiation tolerance coatings. Jongsik Yoon presented a  poster on his thin film solid oxide fuel cell work in the conference.   (August 2007)

  • Functional nanocomposite project is selected by NSF for funding  through  the Materials World Network program at the Division of  Materials Research. This three-year project will start in September  2007. (May 2007)

  • Dr. Wang, Jongsik Yoon and Roy Araujo reported our recent research  results at the MRS Spring 2007 meeting in San Francisco. Dr. Wang’s  talk focused on our group effort in the area of nanostructured YBCO  coated conductors with improved flux pinning properties. Jongsik  presented his recent progress on nanoporous cathode developments for  thin film solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). Roy presented his research on   nanostructured nitride diffusion barrier for Cu interconnects. (April  2007)
