Dr. Wang was featured as
one of the Rising Stars of Texas in Nano Summit 2007. She
presented an invited talk entitled “Nanostructured Functional Ceramic
Thin Films and Applications”. The talk summarized our group’s
research efforts on various ceramic coatings for applications in high
temperature superconductors, diffusion barriers, solid oxide fuel cells
and ion irradiation tolerance coatings. Jongsik Yoon presented a poster
on his thin film solid oxide fuel cell work in the conference.

Dr. Wang, Jongsik Yoon and Roy
Araujo reported our recent research results at the MRS Spring 2007
meeting in San Francisco. Dr. Wang’s talk focused on our group effort in
the area of nanostructured YBCO coated conductors with improved flux
pinning properties. Jongsik presented his recent progress on nanoporous
cathode developments for thin film solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). Roy
presented his research on nanostructured nitride diffusion barrier for
Cu interconnects. (April 2007)
