Differences between different versions

The Office of Graduate Studies publishes thesis manual updates from time to time to provide certain uniform standards regarding style and format of theses, dissertations and records of study. Accordingly, all efforts are taken by EE dept. to update the thesis document class package to meet the new requirements. Some of these changes are described below:

• The type of degree and the major subject are now on the Approval page. Ph.D. students need to define their degree type by inserting
  \renewcommand{\degree}{DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY} in the preamble of their thesis.tex files. For students who are in a department other than Electrical Engineering, you need to define the major subject by inserting
  \renewcommand{\major}{DEPARTMENT NAME}. For more details, please see the sample thesis in Appendix [*].
• In the table of contents, REFERENCES, APPENDICES, and VITA have been moved to the left to be aligned with the CHAPTER column.
• On the Acknowledgment page, the vertical space between ``ACKNOWLEDGMENT'' and the first paragraph has been doubled.
• The horizontal line that separates the text and the selected journal model sentence at the bottom of page one of the thesis has been shortened to ten spaces in length.
