ECEN 403-404 Capstone Design Laboratory

ECEN 403-404 is an industry sponsored program which is an introduction to the design process and project engineering as practiced in industry. Student teams apply the design process by developing a project proposed by industry sponsors through test and evaluation.

Company Benefits:

  • Students become intimately familiar with products of the company.
  • Students advertise the company when discussing their project with other students.
  • Company gets a semester long look at some enthusiastic students.
  • Projects will be demonstrated at the end of the semester and judged by members in industry.
  • Company gets an innovative design.

ECEN 403-404 employs  WebCT course management internet portal. This will enable us to assign each team to a discussion room in which the students can post questions and upload reports. Industry members will use online access to answer students’ questions, gauge the progress of the project and also actively participate in guiding the student teams throughout the semester.

Sponsorship Details:

  • A real world engineering project from your company.
  • A company liaison (mentor) for the students, ideally, an engineer willing to work with students.
  • Equipment training if necessary.
  • Equipment loan if project requires special equipment.
  • WebCT Course Management enables online access to sponsored projects
  • Standard Donation of $5,000 for one semester project. Funds will support department scholarships, travel expenses and other student activities. For more information and additional sponsorship details, contact: Dr. P. Enjeti, Phone: 979-845-7466, email: enjeti@tamu.edu
